Implant Treatments

Dental implants are a preferred method of replacing one or more missing teeth. The implant will bond with the existing bone and provide support for an artificial tooth. Because an implant is permanently fused to the jawbone, it becomes a very stable, long-lasting base.

Dental implants usually have three distinct parts:

Implant – An artificial device that serves as a type of root for artificial teeth.

Abutment – A permanent metal post that holds a tooth or set of teeth in place.

Crown – The part of the tooth that’s visible whenever you open your mouth or smile.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are designed to replace damaged or missing teeth. Your new teeth are made of medical-grade titanium posts. They are surgically inserted into the jawbone. The posts replicate real tooth roots and are designed to fuse with the surrounding bone. The ability to fuse ensures implants are strong, stable, and can support a dental crown, bridge, or denture.

Replacing missing teeth with implants will provide you with the ability to smile, chew your food, and speak with confidence.

What Is The Dental Implant Procedure?

During the first appointment, your dentist will perform a clinical examination to ascertain your eligibility for getting all-on-four. They will also look at your dental records and x-ray images to prepare a detailed treatment plan. In the next appointment, your dentist will make an incision over the soft tissues that cover the jawbone and drill holes at pre-determined sites for implant insertion. Afterward, they will carefully screw in each implant, cover it with a healing cap and suture the soft tissue back. The entire will be performed under sedation so that it will be completely painless.

This surgical site will be left undisturbed to ensure optimal healing. In the meantime, your dentist will place a temporary prosthesis over the implants so that your facial esthetics are not affected and your smile restoration can start! In some cases, dentists choose to attach the permanent prosthesis immediately after implant insertion.

All On Four Implants In A Day

All on four treatment is when we take the current teeth and build around them with the addition of four-six new implant teeth. We have other implant options that we tailor specifically to your personal needs; however, all on four implants are our most common method of treatment.

It is a technique we use in which the implants can be fitted in one appointment. Past methods would be a much longer treatment plan over several months. It is a quicker method that is also virtually painless and stress-free and you can ensure our friendly and experienced team here at BPI will guide you through the entire process.

How Is Dental Implant Placed?

A cavity is opened for the implant with devices called frez, implant is placed and a healing cap is applied.

Implants, which are becoming more common rapidly, are titanium dental roots with screw that are used in dental treatment and placed inside the jaw. Dental prosthesis is placed over these screws. X-ray is used before the application to ensure jaw structure is appropriate for the implant. Implants can be placed using two different methods after measurements are taken regarding the jaw and other teeth. Single stage method is performed by placing a temporary cap after the placement of implant.
